LIBRARY FACILITIES
Loyola College Library is committed to academic excellence and holistic education. The library serves as the heart of academic life, supporting the college’s mission by providing the need of students, faculty members, Scholars and non-teaching staff since its inception in 1993.
Its purpose is to facilitate learning, teaching, and research by providing access to a diverse range of resources and services. Library of Loyola College of Education plays a vital role in supporting the college’s academic mission and fostering a culture of learning, research, and innovation within the institution and beyond.
AIMS OF LIBRARY
1) The primary aim of a library is to provide access to a wide range of informational resources, including books, journals, periodicals, electronic databases, and multimedia materials to its users.
2) To facilitate learning and intellectual growth by offering materials relevant to students’ coursework, research projects, and personal interests.
3)To provide various services and facilities of Library to its user.
4) To promote digital inclusion by providing access to computers, internet connectivity, and digital resources.
LIBRARY COMMITTEE
Every year Loyola College of Education constitutes a Library Committee for smooth functioning of Library activities. The Library Committee plays a crucial role in guiding the strategic directions to the library, promoting user engagement, advocating for resources, and ensuring the effective delivery of library services to meet the informational and educational needs of its users. The Committee consists, of Principal, Librarian as Coordinator and faculty members.

LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS
1) Reader should maintain silence, decorum and discipline in the library.
2) Every member must give biometric attendance/sign the register available at the entrance.
3)Identity Card is compulsory for availing any kind of facilities.
4) No admission is permitted in study room without Identity Card.
5)Books will be issued to only individuals and not to groups or areas.
6) Newspapers and Magazines must be read only in the library, should not be taken to any other reading areas.
7)Students should take up the responsibility to arrange books and chairs properly after using the Library.
8)If any member found misbehaving with the library staff or with any other member. The Librarian reserves the right to suspend the membership.
9)In case of any grievances the users should contact Librarian.

LIBRARY RESOURCES
Loyola College of Education serves a wide range of information resources with various formats, presently it has a collection of more than 7,625 volumes of books (including reference books), and Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme (DDC) 21 st Edition is used for shelving books and other library Collection. Library is automated with cloud based Library Management system (LMS) “KOHA” version23.11.02. It is also a subscriber of UGC-INFLIBNET N-LIST programme which is a boon for students, researchers and teachers alike. Library remains open from Monday to Saturday on all working days between 8.30 a.m. to 4.10 p.m.
